MATERNITY & NEWBORN
This amazing weather has us itching to go out and shoot! If you're thinking spring like we're thinking spring, use our Contact page - we're now booking into June!
Well, here's that awkward moment when you realize you never edited or shared the images from your own family vacation back in AUGUST to the Smoky Mountains...and it's now February :-). This was an incredible vacation for us, although not allllll moments were captured before my lens - we frolicked in a rushing river, went horseback riding twice (once with Abby's school friend!), did tons of hiking, and hung out at our beautiful log cabin. Bliss. Come to think of it, now was the perfect time to go through these images, so we can relive the warmth and fun in the middle of winter! Two things you might already know about us, but if you don't, here they are: we love photographing newborn babies, and we love doing that in their own homes, with their own toys and blankets and people and nurseries. There's just something magical about seeing "where it all begins" for a brand-new life. We were honored to photograph sweet baby Max at his new "crib" (see what I did there? ;-)), and for a guy who was just six days old at his shoot, he definitely brought the personality, eye contact, and blue steel. This session was especially exciting because we did an engagement session for his mom and dad in Ann Arbor a couple of years ago! Welcome to the world, baby Max!

We finally realized that, since all holiday cards and gifts have been distributed, we can show off our own kids' holiday photo shoot from a few months ago at a top-secret location. A had just turned 7, and B was almost 9. They brought their usual sass - a surprise to no one - yet they were marginally more cooperative than in past years. We're interpreting this as a sign of BIG maturity, hooray! To see more of our work with kids, go here. XOXO
Ahhhhh, winter. We LOVE chillin' at home in our jammies, playing with toys, snuggling in blankets...somehow it just feels like we can be fully ourselves that way. Here are a couple shots of our kids hanging out the day after Christmas. It may seem like it's not a big deal, but I am committed to capturing more tiny moments like these with my own kids in 2017. Can I do the same for you? To learn more, check out our storytelling sessions - true documentary-style family photography. Your home can be great, you are enough, don't worry about things being "perfect." We got this ;-).
